About Us

Dating and money are not typically two topics that come together in the same sentence. Yet, for "suddenly single" women out there, the reality is that these two world will collide before we are often ready. Join me here as we explore these topics together and get ready for the release of my new book, "Dating Our Money." Welcome!

Stepping Out In Style

Girls, it is time that we learn to strut our stuff-single or married! Being single and widowed has slowly become an empowering step. Yes, of course, initially life was full of terror being alone but step by step I have realized all that I can accomplish alone from changing a light bulb to buying a car. These small acts may seem foolish to some but they have taught me so much self-confidence. Confidence is the number one quality that men find most

attractive so we need to learn to celebrate who we are and all we have achieved.

After being married a few years, I feel like I lost my voice. Sometimes I knew it took too much energy to argue so I would stay quiet. Now I know that was wrong. My husband did not believe in life insurance and I did not argue the fact with him. Now, realize how different our life would have been if we had had a life insurance policy when my husband died. Please women, it is time to speak up in life. Your husbands’ may not have all the right answers too. We need to voice our opinions. It could make the difference between keeping your house or your kids going to college.

I hope that everyone will at least have term insurance that covers the cost of their mortgage and at least one or two years of expenses. If something happened to your spouse, you often cannot go immediately back to work. You and your kids may need emotional support. Insurance can give you some freedom to make this transition smoother. Term insurance is often very cheap and can only cost individuals from $25 to $45 dollars a month depending on one’s health and smoking status. Please don’t forget to look at the big picture even when cash is tight and remember the peace of mind insurance can give.

Now it is time to value who you are and your intelligence. You are a beautiful and success woman. Value all the good that everyone else sees in you and go strut your stuff on the dance floor. Please remember the quote that is up in my kitchen, “Work like you don’t need the money, Love like you have never been hurt, Sing like no one is listening, and Dance like no one is watching!” Enjoy.
